Blink Animation Tutorial for GIMP

Description

It's late, I'm tired, I'm going to bed. Will write the description stuff later. Will go over later to make sure everything's right and not messed up (this is my second time uploading because gimp was being mean and made one of the steps disappear on my first upload attempt).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made this tutorial (as requested by QueenBrunette) to show how I animate a horse blink, but I'm sure the method could be applied to any animal/human.
***If you want to animation to run more smoothly, add frames between the ones I've got in this tutorial. You could, for example, add a frame (layer) between layers 1 and 2 with the eye only 1/4 closed. When you add a frame (layer) into the cycle (order layer on the side/order the animation will play in), in order for it to run completely smoothly with this new layer you need to at least duplicate the layer you have put between 1 and 2, and put it between 2 and 1 on the other side of the middle frame (your frames go 1,2,3,2,1 so if you add a new layer they should go 1, new layer, 2, 3, 2, new layer, 1) and if you add in a frame between 1,2/2,1 I recommend you also add a frame (layer) between 2 and 3, and 3 and 2. This layer should be the eyes 3/4 shut. This will allow the animation to run smoother, where just adding in one more set of frames could cause it to be a bit jumpy. Your new order, if you decide to do this, would be 1, 1/4 closed new, 2, 3/4 closed new, 3, 3/4 closed new, 2, 1/4 closed new, 1.
Your frames should always go in order  from lowest to the highest (your middle layer) and then decrease back to your first layer (1,2,3,2,1, or 1,2,3,4,3,2,1, etc.). *this is not true with ALL animation, but it is true with a blink*
***If doing a realistic eye/blink, I recommend that you slightly raise the lower lid in the blink frames, too. So when the eyelid is half down, raise the lower lid slightly, and adjust frames to incorporate the lower eyelid raising to meet the upper eyelid. It just gives a more realistic outcome. If you need an example of this, note me, and I'll make another quick tutorial***
If you have any questions or need help, please note me and I'd be glad to help you out!
I am still slowly adding information to this. I will also add any questions and their answers to this (as well as answering the note or comment).
